The Martial Spirit Team
Meet the world class instructors that make up the Martial Spirit Family
A life long student and teacher of martial arts, I co-founded Martial Spirit to provide people an environment dedicated to the path of self development through martial arts. For our team, training and practice is a lifestyle choice – we live and breath it everyday. I encourage you to visit our family and experience our culture. Take the first step – you wont regret it.
The co-founder of Martial Spirit, martial arts is a passion and lifestyle that I love to share with my team. I began my journey in Malaysia, practicing Aikido and have since expanded my practice to include Muay Thai, Boxing, Judo, BJJ and Weaponry. Currently, I teach Aikido to adults and children, compete and train alongside the team in the various martial arts we offer.
I have a strong interest in Thai culture and began Muay Thai training 6 years ago. I am very fortunate to be able to share the knowledge and history of Muay Thai to keen students from all walks of life. If you’re looking for a fun and intense workout then give Muay Thai a try – hope to meet you soon!
I have trained in Muay Thai for over 7 years and been teaching for 3. I’ve also trained in BJJ, Judo, Boxing, Taekwondo, Aikido and Wrestling. Martial Arts is a big part of my life and I enjoy sharing what I love about it whether it be the physical or mental side.
I have a deep passion for Boxing which began at 13 years old when I first walked into a boxing gym, I have gone on to compete and coach at an elite level and travel the world immersing myself in the knowledge and culture of the sport. My goal is to introduce people to the sport in an intelligent and safe manner regardless of their aspirations. My teaching focuses on the fundamental skill and strategy of boxing, developing participants into highly skilled athletes and knowledgeable boxing fans.
Judo & Aikido
I began training at Martial Spirit in 2015 as an Aikido student. After years of dedicated practice under the guidance of Peter Sensei and Spring Sensei, I began teaching Aikido group and private classes to Adults and children. I later developed an interest in Judo which I incorporated into my regular practice. Due to the nature of Aikido that Peter Sensei offers, we are able to find the Aiki in everything and share this practice with all who are willing!
Strength & Conditioning
I started lifting weights when I was 15. I went on to become a personal trainer and completed my Bachelor of Sport Science at RMIT. During my 15 year journey I developed a fascination with sport specific strength and conditioning and the expression of functional movement. I also have come to realise the importance of corrective exercise therapy to maximise ones potential. I enjoy assisting others to improve and optimise their structure, function and overall health.
Strength & Conditioning
Strength training has been a passion of mine for many years and I particularly love its physical and mental challenges. I’m a certified Weight Lifting Coach and enjoy the technical aspect and how the explosive power translates to all sports especially Martial Arts. I believe there is an athlete in everyone.
My Martial arts journey started at the age of 12, through to 16, in Taekwondo. After stopping practice, I always wanted to get back into Martial arts and eventually learnt about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I have been practicing for 5 years. I’m Obsessed and can’t get enough!
Boxing has had a profound impact on my life. It has taken me from my humble beginnings to an athlete on an elite stage.
I am honoured to be able to share my knowledge of the sport and be part of the martial arts community. The beauty of the sport lies in how elegant, simple yet wonderfully complex it can be, hence the moniker ‘the sweet science.’
I had always wanted to learn a martial art. I finally started training in aikido 13 years ago under Peter Sensei. Aikido quickly became a strong element of my life, and I love exploring aiki principles in and outside class! Four years ago, I began to learn BJJ, which has provided me with different challenges.
My martial arts journey now includes teaching aikido. It’s very rewarding to help others discover aikido and I hope I can pass on some of the insights that I have gained in my training, both from my teachers and my own practice.
